The team of Academician Wu Zhiqiang introduces the highlights of the course system of city diagnosis from four aspects, namely people’s life around the world, people’s life in a region, people’s life in the inner city and components of cities. Focusing on the drawbacks and difficulties of cities, the team takes advantage of big data and artificial intelligence technology to use a quantitative method for data analytics and data mining. And based on multi-source data, like historical and current urban data and spatiotemporal urban big data, the team combines the laws of urban development and a self-developed algorithm model base to make an intelligent diagnosis of urban ecology, industries, social life, regions, and transportation, so as to deeply explore the objective cities and provide new ways of establishing sustainable urban development.
