Mao's kite is originated from Mao Zuyun clan, workers for bay salt on the outer beach of Zhelin. Mao Zuyun's ancestral home is Daishan Island, Zhejiang Province. Their ancestors made a living in salt industry. The sun is the lantern from heaven in the heart of theso people who are working for bay salt and the blessing given by the Bodhisattva. During the Qingming Festival, these people not only pray for the blessing of the Bodhisattva and the manifestation of their ancestors, but also kowtow to heaven and earth to show their gratitude.
